GEORGE SHAPLAND
OCTOBER 2020
George is still waiting for his wood to dry. Once dried, he intends on providing two bowls from the same piece of wood to show how the orientation of the log when turning affects the grain pattern in the finished piece (also with video). These would be available to pass around the 5 ATU partner schools for the pupils to handle.
November 2020
George has turned 5 trees , one for each of the ATU partner schools. They will be delivered to the schools in time for christmas.
“I have made 5 trees from your Ash so far, they vary in size from 13-18cm. I have made a video of the process (this is my first attempt at filming and editing, so very amateur).
I intend to crack on with the bowls after Christmas when I have a little more time.”
