Rycotewood Furniture Centre
Rycotewood has delivered furniture training in Oxfordshire since 1938. Located at the centre of Oxford since 2004, it is a renowned centre of excellence delivering vocational training for people who want careers in furniture design and making.
We participated in the One Oak project some years ago. Our students produced two pieces of finely crafted furniture and an outdoor seat designed in collaboration with local primary schools. We would like to initially offer the One Ash timber to one or two students as a competition within a set project. The offcuts could then be used by other students as part of our small craft object project to ensure we use as much of the timber as possible.
We will record progress in photos and on film and use Instagram to share our projects with the outside world so.
We would be very happy to host a visit by any group and may be able to arrange demonstrations or activities they could participate in
