First Monthly Craft Workshop Held in Cabin
On Saturday 24th February we held our first ‘Crafty Saturday’ Workshop in the new Cabin!
Originally run in 2018, the pandemic and building works have prevented us from developing our green crafts sessions since 2019. We are VERY excited to be able to start again.
Our volunteers led this first session, teaching workshop participants to weave willow cones (small 4-sided baskets) and create pencils from twigs harvested from a fallen Ash tree.
The wood burner in the Cabin performed brilliantly, keeping everybody warm despite the cold and frosty morning. This was helped by a plentiful supply of hot drinks, cake, and biscuits.
We can’t wait to welcome back professional willow weaver Louise Arthur of Rough Around the Hedges who will be leading the next session on Saturday 23rd March. This session is now fully booked, so be sure to keep an eye on our Events Calendar for when upcoming workshops are announced, and book your space early!
