Locally felled trees arrived on site mid-June. They were processed on site in various ways, starting with the longer 6m roof supports being axe-hewed by the Carpenters Fellowship 18th-22nd and completed by a mobile milling machine the following week.
The timbers sections for the frames were then be carved out in 5-day blocks over 5 weeks, starting July 7th.
AND NOW THE FINAL PHASE OF THE FRAMING!
The frames will be raised by hand using traditional techniques (ropes and poles and muscle power) Thursday August 26th-30th..
ADDITIONAL SPACES HAVE OPENED UP FOR THURSDAY & FRIDAY TO WORK ALONGSIDE THE FRAMERS & CARPENTERS AND BE PART OF THE RAISING.
THE GROUND SUPPORT TEAM (everything from catering, housekeeping and site security) needs a few more hands on Thursday.
