NIH Exchange Project visit to Costa Rica: Part One – The Journey Begins!

After two years spent learning about ecology at Harmony Woods, completing mini-projects and volunteering at ATU events, the hard work of four exchange project members has culminated in an exciting opportunity to volunteer in Costa Rica with the Corcovado Foundation.

On Tuesday 19th July, Nature In Harmony Exchange Project participants Grace, Maylis and Charley set off from Andover, alongside family members and ATU volunteer leaders Alex, Sarah and Harvey.

The group members boarded their first flight to Toronto where they had a short stopover until catching their second flight to San Juan, Costa Rica.

Fortunately, the break between flights gave everyone enough time to explore some of Toronto’s attractions and take some fantastic photos!

Here the group can be seen enjoying the incredible views of the city from the CN Tower and visiting the Toronto sign in Nathan Phillips Square.

There was also some time left to visit a small street market selling cherries from the Niagara region!

Before departing to catch their second flight, group members also took the opportunity to take photos with the Maple Leafs ice hockey team statues in Legends Row.
