Meet our Trustees - Sue
Andover Trees United is supported by a wonderful and vital team of Trustees who play a key role in ensuring the organisation continues to develop and stays focused on its mission and priorities.
Sue is an expert on all things community and business collaboration. She is the founder of the Natural Business Network and has lived in Andover since the age of three. She set up Natural Business Network in March 2020 and before then she worked as a Make-Up Artist and Nail technician (and still does!). Her work makes a real difference to the businesses, charities and groups in Andover and we are honored to have Sue on the team!
Why do you volunteer for Andover Trees United?
Because their expertise supporting education, business, community and individuals is so effective, and done with love and enthusiasm. I see people bonding with each other, the places they live, sharing and developing skills, and most importantly remind us that we are part of nature. It is reassuring to have a globally excellent example of how to be truly sustainable environmentally and economically in Andover, Test Valley and beyond.
What do you gain from volunteering with Andover Trees United?
It's nice to belong, to be useful and spend time with good people. The benefits to health and wellbeing for myself and anyone are great. ATU are so established and knowledgeable that there is always something amazing to learn.
What's the most enjoyable thing you've done while volunteering?
Gosh! There is so much I have enjoyed I cannot choose! I think seeing the children and everyone thriving and gaining confidence alongside each other.
The beauty of the wildflowers, the dragonflies, serving the carpenters and other volunteers tea, the company of like minded and interesting people, there is so much that I enjoy.
Oh, hang on a minute I do go for the cakes!
Would you recommend volunteering to others?
Absolutely.
Are you inspired by Sue’s story? We are always looking for new volunteers and trustees!
